General
The information and tools provided by VetYoga (“https://www.vetyoga.com”) are for general informational and educational purposes only. We offer them in good faith, but make no representation or warranty about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any result for your individual pet. Any reliance you place on a tool’s output is strictly at your own risk.
Not Veterinary Advice
VetYoga is not a veterinarian and does not provide veterinary care, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing on this site creates a veterinarian–client–patient relationship. Our content and calculators are educational tools that never replace an examination by, and the advice of, a qualified veterinary professional who knows your animal. If your pet is unwell, injured, or behaving unusually, contact your vet — and treat any sudden or severe change as a reason to seek prompt care.
The Calculators Produce Estimates
Every tool on VetYoga models a common, published convention rather than a fixed rule that applies to every animal:
- The pet age tool uses the modern size-aware model; real aging varies with breed, genetics, and health.
- The calorie and portion tools apply the RER/MER formulas and the food details you provide. Actual needs differ with metabolism, life stage, and condition, and energy density varies between foods.
- The ideal-weight tool is based on a subjective body condition score and an approximate 10%-per-point rule; it is not a substitute for a hands-on assessment.
- The water and exercise toolsgive species-appropriate ranges. Weather, health, breed, and life stage all shift what’s right for an individual pet.
Not a Guarantee of Results
Nothing on VetYoga guarantees a particular health outcome. Use the tools as a starting point, then sense-check what matters with a professional:
- Confirm feeding amounts and any weight-loss plan with your vet, especially for cats.
- Have your vet assess body condition, dental health, and life-stage needs at check-ups.
- Treat unexplained weight change, or a lasting change in drinking, eating, or activity, as a reason to seek advice.
